Vision
I want to capture every gorgeous detail of how your baby looks – the wispy softness of their downy hair, their tiny little finger nails, every detail in their dreamy eyelashes – and freeze them forever. This is your baby – you created this enchanting little miracle! And although you will remember so much about how your baby transformed your life during these early days, our memories can never reflect the visual detail caught in a photograph. My goal is to ensure that you have a tangible, elegant piece of art to hang on to – or to hang on your wall – forever.
Timing
The first days of your newborn baby’s life are uniquely special. This is the time when you will be adjusting to life with your newborn – and you will be experiencing a range of emotions, including elation. This time between you and your new tiny family member flits by very fast, and yet your baby’s newborn innocence will never be so apparent as it is within his or her first weeks of life. Newborn photo sessions are best scheduled when your baby is between 5 and 10 days of age – so delicate and breathtaking; and, yes, sometimes, surprisingly loud for such a tiny creation! You will want to stop time during the moments when you marvel at the peacefulness of your baby curled up and deep in sleep, almost as if they were still in the womb. A camera shutter can ‘stop’ time, and my unique take will reflect your beautiful newborn.
Consultation
I am passionate about photographing newborns, but this is your baby, and I want your newborn photo session to reflect the type of images that you will marvel over almost as much as your little one. Through having an in-person or over the phone consultation, I have an opportunity to find out just how you envision your newborn baby’s photos. Do you wish to keep them minimalistic – placing the focus upon your newborn’s gorgeous, enchanting attributes? Or do you want to perhaps accentuate your newborn’s beauty through the use of distinct handmade props?
I can photograph your newborn in plush blankets, bonnets, wraps, throws, headbands, outfits and other distinct items; all which I have carefully selected from around the world. If you have sentimental items such as knitted blanket, or a special clothing item, that you would like included in your newborn’s photos, absolutely do bring it along! I will try my best to incorporate them into your session.
The Experience
My goal is for the session to be enjoyable and something that you will remember and cherish forever. My studio environment is welcoming for you and your newborn baby; it is relaxing and inviting. I don’t want you to worry about what to do before hand – you are busy enough taking care of your new little one! So once your date is booked, I will send you a detailed guide to help you and your family prepare for this special experience.
